Michael KlinkhamerMichael Klinkhamer(1959) is a Dutch born photographer from Amsterdam now living in Asia.

After a successful and steady career in photography since 1985, shooting mostly magazine and automotive (cars) photography. In 2008 I decided to go back to the basis. Being on the road and doing, travel and fine art photography, or as I like to call them, ‘MoodImages’.

This resulted in pictures without pressure and images that came to me naturally. “MoodImages of the Aloha Spirit”.

“Photography became more a kind of meditation and an exercise of self-reflection and present moment awareness. This way of working started in 2008 in China and after that in Hawaii, Bali- Indonesia and presently in Cambodia. It’s not always possible to work that way. The place and right timing is very important for that kind of picture taking.”

“Right now I am working most of the time in South East Asia, and live in Cambodia. It’s hard to go wrong here in taking great pictures, there are so many interesting faces and amazing places to capture here”.

“The pictures I present at ‘our many stories.com’ are a collection of moments and portraits that I was only looking, only being the watcher with a camera. An observer with the right kind of eyes of awareness, and photographic ability to capture those moments of total surrender. The portraits were made in a natural flow and with a mutual respect and understanding by the people I photographed, that’s certainly something to be grateful for. MoodImages come to me as a natural gifts.

“Sure, you can look at them as only pretty pictures, but there is also a positive message to them. It’s not always necessary to tackle a controversial topic or issues. MoodImages can make everybody happy”.
